Phlebotomy
Most of you know how much I love nursing (sike)! My biggest nemesis at my job is drawing patients' blood. I don't have to do it all that much, because we have assistants that do it for us, but every once in a while, I have to suck it up & do it myself. It's the worst feeling going to a patient with a needle thinking that you might miss their vein, because if you do, they're going to look at you like you're crazy & tell you how much it hurts. Then, to make it even worse, you have to go ask someone else to draw your patient's blood for you, because you couldn't get it & most likely, that person's annoyed, because you've just interrupted what they're in the middle of. Well everyone, start cheering, because today was one of those circumstances where I had to do it myself. No, I wasn't confident, but I acted like I was. Miraculously, I got my patient's vein with the first stick. I must say, it was a big adrenaline rush...I was so siked for myself that I just had to share it with you guys! :)
Easter Sunday
Well we are getting older (sigh) and thus it is up to US to keep the family together. This year for Easter it is our turn to plan something for the family. Denise and I were thinking since the weather is nice, and instead of going to some restaurant where the food might not be good, we could do the first bbq of the year!! So, lets do a "primos invite their parents for easter" celebration......everyone in???

Saludos!!
So I just got the hang of this blogging thing...as you will see I responded to pretty much everything. This is an awesome idea Mr. B! thank you :) So I would like to share a little story from a fifth grade class in room 43 at Hampton Oaks Elementary! A troubled student of mine (ESL) was having a really tough time both behavior and gradeswise. I took to him because he was Spanish and his mom tried to help but didn't know much English. I was strict with him and helped him whenever possible.Anyway, I did his report card just this weekend and noticed that he went from F's and a couple D's to C's and B's (and one D...in math, not my class). I told him how proud I was and that I hope he kept it up even after I leave. He smiled and said he would and that he would ask my cooperating teacher to send me a copy of his report card at the end of the year. He had the warmest smile and seemed so proud and excited that someone cared after I'm sure so many teachers blew him off as a problem child. This is why I heart teaching. Ok, just had to share :)

Great idea!
I think this is a great idea Bruni, this way we can all be aware of whats going on in each other's lives. Well I just got back from good old BOLIVIA!! The trip was great---got to see the family, eat great food and relax. I will post pics tonight so you guys can see what went on. Oh and yes, the rumors are true----I'm not sure if I am still from The Strongest.....I think even I can play better than them!
Start of the family blog
So what do you guys think?.....starting a blog of our family is something I've been thinking about for a while and I think now is the best time to start it!
This would be a digital album full of photos, stories, experiences and thoughts and the best thing is that anyone including our famly in Bolivia can view and post to this site!!!
So...here we go!
